Cilindro pot
A cylinder-shaped pot produced using the Talaver method in Mexico. The pot is decorated with floral motifs, a very popular ornamentation among Mexican ceramics manufacturers. The dominant colors with which the pot was painted are shades of yellow, green, blue, red and black. The dye is applied in a thick layer, so the surface structure of the pot is not smooth and gives a 3D effect.
The manual way of forming the pot, affects that the edge of the pot can be slightly irregular. The base and the edge of the pot in yellow refers to the symbolism of the sun. The inside of the pot is colored white. The pot's proportions, 31 cm in diameter and 35 cm high, allow to grow plants with quite big inflorescences.
The production method provides the pot with high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. Type of colorants and their structure provides deep saturation and resistance to discoloration.
Ceramics made by Talaver method
Talavera is a way of producing ceramics transferred to Mexican culture by the Spanish colonizers in the 16th century from the Spanish city of Talavera de la Reina. The method of making faience in this way consists of shaping the shape, firing the object, then applying the patterns and tinting them in the characteristic colors, blue, red, orange, yellow, white and black, then glazing and re-firing. Talavera is an art very popular and appreciated all over the world.
