Telavera ceramics

Telavera production methods were brought to Mexico by Spanish colonizers. They brought the manufacturing methods from the village of Talavera de la Reina, where this type of ceramic production method was pioneered. The patterns and colors themselves are reminiscent of Mayan and Aztec culture.
Handmade Mexican ceramics are characterized by a variety of designs and decorations. It can be assumed that each product is a work of art with no copies. Due to their diversity and quality of workmanship, Telavera products are becoming increasingly popular in Europe as well.

Talavera decorations

Decorative items made from ceramics are very popular everyday objects in Mexico. Colorful pots, figures, suns, animals, cups and mugs allude in their designs to tradition and religion. The colors with which the decorations are decorated often harmonize with the outdoor space, the sun, water, vegetation.
Faience declarations go perfectly with single-color tiles or patchwork compositions, and are often the dominant decorative element of a room. The way Mexican ceramics are made allows to display decorations also outdoors, on terraces, balconies and gardens. Designers who place Mexican ceramic decorations in their works say that they do not like solitude, they blend in best with their surroundings when there are several of them. This then means that their presence is non-accidental and the effect achieved is intentional.
