Verde Deslavado emerald - Talavera plain colour tiles

Hand-painted emerald Talavera-type tiles are made using traditional technique (history of Talavera-type ceramics).

Talavera marine tiles, often also called Majolica, or simply from the Spanish Azulejos, are very popular not only in Mexico but also worldwide because of their unique character. The manual painting of the tiles and the characteristics of the technique itself make the individual colors on the tiles not homogeneous, the edges are not always of perfect shape, and thus the tiles look rustic and original. Tiles are resistant to abrasion and even with deeper scratches, the pattern is still visible, because individual colors are contained in the glazing. Each tile is first covered with a base color and then each color of the pattern is applied separately. After firing, the tiles obtain their final color, as well as their extraordinary resistance.
