Patchwork tiles in yellow and blue, made from handmade Mexican Talavera tiles, delight with their rich patterns and colors.
Mexican patchwork tiles are perfect for kitchens, for example, filling the space above the countertop, or for bathrooms, under the shower.
Talavera tiles are not perfectly identical, and that is part of their charm. The glaze may show signs of small cracks caused during firing, and the patterns may vary slightly.
The tiles are resistant to abrasion, and even with deeper scratches, the pattern is still visible because the individual colors are contained in the glaze. Each tile is first covered with a base coat, and then each color of the pattern is applied separately. After firing, the tiles obtain their final color and extraordinary resistance.
