Lidded container - Bizcocho
Container with square base with cover, height 25 cm and side of base 13.5 cm. Container decorated by the artist with floral patterns, whose colors are shades of blue, yellow, orange, green and brown. The edge of the base of the container, its upper edge and the lid handle are colored with a dark grenade strongly contrasting with other decorations. A thick layer of dense dye and enamel allows to create an effect similar to 3D. The craftsman has himself applied the decorations to the container, making it a single, unique product.
In addition to its utility applications, i.e. storage of cookies, candies and other sweets, the container can also serve a decorative role.
Talavera style
The ceramic production style called Talavera was brought to Mexico by the Spanish colonizers in the 16th century. This method of pottery production was initiated in the city of Talavera de la Reina in Spain. The pottery created by this technology consists of creating a form, firing it, and then decorating it with floral patterns, glazing and re-firing. This allows to obtain very durable, resistant to mechanical damage products. Talaver's ceramics are characterized by exceptional care and attention to detail. Talavera products are sought after by collectors all over the world.
