Floraro vase
Floraro ceramic vase produced in the Talavera technique with a height of 35 cm and a diameter of 15 cm. The ceramic vase has been carefully painted and decorated. The patterns applied to its surface allude to the florets of plants, their leaves and stems. The edge of the vessel coloured orange contrasts harmoniously with the other colours The floral patterns are hand-painted by the artist. The thick texture of the dye, applied to the surface, allows for a 3D-like effect. The dimensions and volume of the vase allow it to accommodate many types of flowers.
Talavera ceramics
The Telavera style of production was brought with the Spanish colonists to Mexico in the first half of the 16th century. The original place where this type of ware was made was the town of Talavera de la Reina in Spain. The colours and design dating back to Mayan and Aztec times were consistent with the new technology of pottery making. The artisanal ways of making it have remained virtually unchanged to the present day. The bold colours and design have influenced the popularity of Talavera ceramics, and products created using this technology have become coveted by collectors around the world.
