Maribel bowl
Ceramic bowl from Mexico, handmade by an artisan. The bowl is decorated with floral patterns, characteristic of the Talavera style. The product can be used as a dish as well as a piece of tableware. It is suitable for use in the kitchen as well as the living room. It is also suitable as decoration in your home, which no one will be able to pass by indifferently. Intense colours and unusual patterns will provide an excellent variety among classic, single-colour crockery.
The bowl is glazed to prevent the colour from rubbing off and the water from seeping in. The colour has been applied by hand and the thick dye, applied quite thickly to the surface of the bowl, allows for a 3D-like effect. The ceramic bowl is durable, damage-resistant and sturdy. You can wash it safely in the dishwasher.
Talavera ceramics
The production method for this technique originated in the Spanish town of Talavera de la Reina and was brought to Mexico in the first half of the 16th century. Talavera ceramics are generally decorated with patterns that refer to floral symbolism. Flowers, buds, leaves and stems are strongly marked. In addition to blue, which was the dominant colour at the beginning, Talavera ceramics are now also decorated in shades of yellow, orange, red, green and black.
Talavera ceramics also include terracotta tiles and glazed tiles, which have recently become very fashionable and are eagerly used by interior designers.
