Large rectangular platter - Vasija
Large rectangular platter with dimensions 41,5cm x 22cm x 4cm made in Talavera style.
The edge of the dish was formed in the shape of an octagon and colored on the intense orange, so that the main color perfectly contrasts with the rest of the dish. The bottom of the platter and the sides are decorated with floral motifs, so characteristic of the Talavera style. The hand-applied patterns on the platter create a unique, original work of art.
The dominant colors with which the patterns have been painted are shades of blue, yellow, orange, and green. The dense layer of pigment applied to the dish gives a 3D-like effect. The characteristic method of glazing and firing the faience ensures appropriate durability, lack of the possibility of discolouration, and high resistance to mechanical damage.
The platter is perfect for serving tapas, fruit, sweets, and cakes. It will also be an original element of interior decoration, together with other details of the service, it may create an unforgettable composition on a dresser or other place where such a great decoration can be presented.
