Ceramic mug Taza
A climatic ceramic mug with a diameter of approx. 10 cm and a height of approx. 9.5 cm.
Mug created by a Mexican craftsman in Talavera style. Hand-made form makes the mug unique. The motifs of the design refer to the floral symbolism, which is extremely characteristic for products created in Talavera. The edge of the cup is coloured blue and separated by a white line from other decorations. The dominant colours on the mug are blue, yellow, red, green and brown. The type of dye and its thickness applied on the vessel gives intense saturation and the effect is similar to 3D.
The optimally shaped ear makes the mug lie perfectly in the hand, does not lean to the sides and in case of a hot drink there is no risk of burning the hand. Apart from its usefulness, the mug is an ideal decorative feature.
Talavera style
The production of ceramics using the Talavera method is a method brought to Mexico by the Spanish at the beginning of the 16th century. The colours previously used by the Maya and Aztecs were harmoniously transferred to the new technique and have fully proved their worth. The ornamentation used in Talavera refers to flower symbolism and is characterized by patterns of flowers, leaves, buds and stems. Apart from figurines, very popular products of Talavera are single-colour tiles or patchwork used in interior decoration. Talavera ceramics are increasingly popular in Europe. It is also increasingly becoming a decorative element of newly designed interiors.
