Té - colorful mug made of Talavera ceramics

Climatic ceramic mug with a diameter of about 10 cm and a height of about 9.5 cm. Mug created by a Mexican craftsman in Talaver style. Hand-made form makes the mug unique. Motifs of the design refer to the floral symbolism, which is extremely characteristic for products created in Talavera. The edge of the mug is colored blue and separated by a white line from the rest of the decoration. The dominant colors on the mug are blue, yellow, red, green and brown. The type of colorant and its thickness applied on the vessel gives an intense saturation and effect similar to 3D.

Optimally shaped ear makes the mug lies well in the hand, does not lean to the sides and in case of a hot drink there is no risk of burning the hand. In addition to its usefulness, the mug is ideal for decoration.



Talavera style
The production of ceramics by the Talaver method is a method brought to Mexico by the Spanish at the beginning of the 16th century. The colors previously used by the Mayans and Aztecs were harmoniously transferred to the new technique and have fully proven themselves. The ornamentation used in Talavera refers to flower symbolism and is characterized by patterns of flowers, leaves, buds and stems. Apart from figurines, very popular products of Talavera are single-color tiles or patchwork used in interior decoration. Talavera ceramics is increasingly popular in Europe. It is also becoming more and more often a decorative element of newly designed interiors.
