Patchwork of single-color Mexican tiles

Mexican single-color, glazed tiles, arranged in a patchwork consisting of 30 pieces measuring 10.5 cm x 10.5 cm. The tiles are produced using traditional methods, borrowed from the Spanish Talavera production method. The set includes, for example, emerald, celadon, malachite, azure and mint tiles.

Talavera tiles

The Spanish conquistadors conquered Mexico at the beginning of the 16th century and this had a huge impact on the space of culture and art. The Spaniards implemented, among other things, the art of producing ceramics, later known throughout the world as Talavera. The name of the Talavera ceramics production method comes from the Spanish town of Talavera de la Reina, where the production of ceramics using this technology began.
Ceramics produced in the Talavera style are characterized by a thickly applied dye, usually natural, which allows for obtaining a highly saturated color. Subsequent glazing and firing allows you to obtain tiles with high durability and resistance to abrasion. Patchworks are composed of single-color tiles, they come in various shades.

The use of single-color tiles in various shades will be a great surface finish in the kitchen or bathroom. Such a patchwork will be an ideal background for patterned tiles, decors that will emphasize the character and specificity of the interior. A natural background of single-color tiles will appropriately highlight decorative elements in the room, which, in addition to patterned tiles, can be a faucet, sink, bathtub or mirror.
