Salero - ceramic Mexican salt shaker
The ceramic spice container Solero, is a manufactured and painted piece of tableware. The salt shaker can be used as a container for any spice. It will also work well as a decoration in your kitchen, which no one will be able to pass by indifferently. Intense colours and unusual patterns will provide an excellent variety among classic, single-colour crockery. The glazing ensures that the patterns and colours remain fresh for years. The dish is durable, damage-resistant and robust. You can wash it safely in the dishwasher.
The product is made by a Mexican artisan. The colour has been applied by hand and the thick dye, applied quite thickly to the surface of the dish, allows for a 3D-like effect.
Talavera ceramics
The production method using this technique originated in the Spanish town of Talavera de la Reina and was brought to Mexico in the first half of the 16th century. Talavera ceramics are generally decorated with patterns that refer to floral symbolism. Flowers, buds, leaves and stems are strongly marked. In addition to blue, which was the dominant colour at the beginning, Talavera ceramics are now also decorated in shades of yellow, orange, red, green and black.
Talavera ceramics also include terracotta tiles and glazed tiles, which have recently become very fashionable and are eagerly used by interior designers.
